Pastor Dr. Sam W. Whack & First Lady Cynthia Whack 

Dr. Rev. Whack was born and raised in Manning, SC, the son of the late Rev. S.W. and Evangelist Ola Whack. He is married to the former Cynthia Elmore Whack, and together they have three daughters—Samantha, Chelsea, and Zaria—as well as one grandson, Kamren.

A dedicated scholar and lifelong learner, Dr. Whack is a graduate of Manning High School, South Carolina State University, and Cambridge College. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a Master of Education, an Educational Specialist degree in School Administration, and a Doctor of Education. Currently, he is furthering his theological studies at Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, GA, where he is pursuing a Master of Divinity.

With 24 years of experience in education, Dr. Whack has served in various leadership roles, including teacher, assistant principal, principal, and Chief of Human Resources and Academies. He currently serves as the acting Superintendent of Jasper County School District.

In addition to his work in education, Dr. Whack has dedicated nearly three decades to ministry. Over the past 29 years, including nearly 25 years as a pastor, he has led several congregations, including New Light Baptist Church (Davis Station), Chaney Grove Baptist Church (Timmonsville), and Pee Dee Union Baptist Church (Cheraw, SC). He is the founder and Senior Pastor of The Rebound Church (Florence, SC) and the Senior Pastor of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church (Manning, SC).

Dr. Whack’s favorite scripture is Psalm 27:14:
"Wait on the Lord and be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart. Wait, I say, on the Lord!"
